Maybe you have heard the expression “it’s what it’s”? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning with this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating above the bottom imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how this is my last life on the planet and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
What’s the IT that people are authoring here? Based on the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. Exactly why is it crucial that you best a course in miracles podcast emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not open to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in an array of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by way of a group and that gives the members an item of devotion.”
Who devised the system of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? Based on the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to come back to a great state of being. There’s no thought or action in their state of being, you only are. What must not be forgotten could be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put another way, “it’s what it’s” can be rewritten to “God’s love is the sole truth and it’s absolute” and this truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
